Supporting Young Minds to Grow

Hello, I’m Lorna and I created Glittering Minds to support children with dyslexic tendencies or literacy difficulties. I work with learners aged 6 to 14 who need that extra bit of support to achieve their potential. I strongly believe that learning should be fun, engaging and personalised and this is at the heart of everything I do. I strive to boost each child’s confidence and self-esteem by ensuring tasks accessible and achievable, and by giving plenty of positive feedback.

For after-school tuition, I work weekdays between 3.30pm and 6.00pm. I am also available during the day for home educated children.

Qualifications and Experience

I am a qualified primary school teacher and trained with the British Dyslexia Association to Accredited Teacher Status (ATS) as a dyslexia specialist. Children do not need a diagnostic assessment to work with me. If your child has a dyslexia diagnosis I am fully trained to support them.

Learn in a relaxed environment

Tutoring sessions take place at my home in Kingston near Lewes, East Sussex.

Wide range of support

I support all aspects of literacy including phonological awareness, alphabet knowledge, spelling, handwriting, writing structure, reading fluency and comprehension.
